      Rose Evelyn Reliant ketch

The Foundation of CSUMB has received the generous donation of three keelboats which have greatly enhanced the boating program. Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are able to utilize the vessels for safety and sail training, and for recreational purposes.

Donated vessels include:

  • Midnight Passage - a 20' Pearson sailboat

  • Sloopy - a 25' Pearson sailboat

  • Rose Evelyn - a cold-molded 56' Reliant ketch

The Rose Evelyn was a labor of love for Gus and Rose Marsh. They spent five years designing and building this beautiful vessel at his millwork company in Birmingham, Alabama. The Reliant 56-ft vessel incorporates the finest amenities including a cold-molded hull, teak decks, and custom leather interior. They generously donated the Rose Evelyn to the Foundation of CSUMB in 1997.

To learn more about donated boats, or to inquire about donating a vessel, please contact: Cynthia D'Vincent at Cynthia_DVincent@csumb.edu or (831) 582-4271. Please contact your tax advisor directly regarding the tax deductible contribution of your vessel to the boating program.
